After attending BABYMETAL RETURNS @ Makuhari on 2023.1.28, I had dropped out of BEGINS @ PIA MM and APOCRYPHA @ ZEPP HANEDA, but to my surprise, I was able to get tickets for Day 2 @ ZEPP HANEDA after 6 hours of persistence at the resale on the day before the show.
My first BABYMETAL live concert was BABYMETAL APOCRYPHA – ANOTHER GALAXY – @ZEPP DIVERCITY on 2019.12.16, so I was lucky to see a small box concert after 4.5 years! Thank you to all those who gave resale.
The doors finally opened, and with an A751 ticket, I was in the third row, slightly to the top of the fence. I am directly in front of the drum set (probably Mr. Anthony). The two upper guitars are seated.
I was expecting a momentary shift to the center with compression when darkness fell, but during the latter stages of the audience entry, I was pushed into the middle of the room.

The audience clapped & applauded for The End – Lil Uzi Vert and Kingslayer – BMTH!
Youth Gone Wild – Skid Row was a surprise.
And Testify – Rage Against The Machine was “meta!” Was it the smell of the first performance? I think later…

As most expected? BMD start from the paper theater.
As I don’t know YUIMETAL, the DEATH start I dreamed of is the best DEATH beyond my expectation!

I wonder if the twin guitar phrases at the start of ROR have been lowered to the pitch of the 2nd album source. This is also a nice touch.
The tight and dynamic performance was arranged and finished well after touring around the world.
The power of the sound was different from the big venues like arenas and messe, and you could directly feel SU-METAL’s singing voice and drum beats. And the performers are close!

After METAL KINGDOM was over, the venue was getting ready for the last I.D.Z. Then, suddenly the shamisen sounded, and the audience was asked, “Megitsune style? Japanese Style? Festival? The solo by Kami Band was performed to the rhythm of “Megitsune style?
Then, the three princesses appeared on stage, and the audience went wild…
From SU-METAL’s shouts of “Wa- ni natte ♪ Wa- ni natte ♬♬ Pi-hyara Odoro!”, what the heck, it’s KAWAII Bon Dance Song – Festival – METAL!
Wasshoi!” and “Dokkoisho!” （and other calls, the other members of the group (including myself) perfectly matched the calls on the first try!) Amazing!
During the break, SU-METAL said to the audience, “Sit down! When I started to get down on my knees, there was a buzz of excitement, and on stage, MOMOMETAL was pinpointed and her solo dance was starting….
The dance was like a Kabuki performance of “Miekiri”… was this the opening statement of MOMOMETAL’s succession?
It was hard to believe that this was their first performance. The “METALI!!” took over everything at the end of the show!
It was the latest and greatest tune that blew away the fatigue of 70 minutes of full mosh.
Next time I’ll see them at Summer Sonic!
